Deezer – “Dance Fight”

ASB’s 3D Illustrated Cinematics can deliver knockout results for animatics that need full animation but also look distinct from a fully finished ad. In “Dance Fight” (above) with BETC for French music streaming platform Deezer, the boxing and dance moves were critical to capture smoothly, but the visuals needed to look more illustrated.

Cue ASB’s 3D Illustrated Cinematics, which applies lines and shading to 3D models, creating a hand-drawn aesthetic without sacrificing the flexibility and speed of 3D and motion capture. For spots like “Dance Fight”, we bring in professional choreographers and dancers to capture fluid, life-like movement in-house at our studio in Brooklyn, the largest mocap facility on the east coast.

These benefits as well as our reliability, efficiency and quality have allowed us to remain a longtime animatics partner to BETC Paris. Iconoclast produced the broadcast version of “Dance Fight”, bringing together director Nogari and choreographer Eddy Soares for this second installment of Deezer’s “Live the Music” campaign.
